Asanas are named after sacred animals, ancient yogic sages, and Hindu deities. The myths and stories behind these deities have much to teach us, and they serve as inspiration for the physical practice of yoga, fueling it with a deeper meditative quality. This workshop will include storytelling about the Hindu gods and goddesses and how they relate to the postures we practice, as well as shed light on many of the traditions we see in the yoga classroom, and will highlight the Hindu trinity of Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma, and their avatars. The hope is that this workshop will add a new dimension to your practice and to your love of yoga.
